Welcome to Robert Mason's Web Site

Robert 'Bob' Mason has a Web Site now with some of his Vietnam photographs and parts of each book -- the famous "Chickenhawk;" "Chickenhawk: Back in the World;" "Weapon;" and "Solo." The last two are about a military robot who won't do what he's told. There are reviews and more!

Learn about the filming of "Flightline: The Army Helicopter Pilots of Vietnam," narrated by Harrison Ford and shown nationally on PBS stations on and around Veterans Day, 2000. The Site also includes a photo of Ford with Bob going over the script during filming.

SUNRAYSIA VIETNAM VETERANS -
(Our Aussie Bros)

Sunraysia Vietnam Veterans Association started way back in about 1974 with about four or five blokes deciding to do something for themselves and other like-minded Veterans. Since then, it has grown from strength to strength.

Last year there was a fund-raising drive to the tune of over $50,000 which was used to construct Veterans Memorial here in Mildura. The Memorial was drawn and designed by John Prowse, a local bloke who is also a Vietnam Veteran.

We have also started our own Support Network, for Veterans in crisis, with close links to Police, local Hospital and The Vietnam Veterans counseling Service (VVCS), both in Melbourne and Adeliade.

MOBILE RIVERINE FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY -
"We served in the Delta with what I have come to realize was a 'little known'
group called the Mobile Riverine Force. The force was Army and Navy
Personnel, mostly teenagers like myself, working and living on the rivers
and canals of the Mekong Delta.... "

73rd Surveillance Airplane Company (SAC) -
"The mission of the 73d Aviation Conpany (Aerial Surveillance) was to perform visual, photographic, and electronic reconnaissance and surveillance in support of Republic of Vietnam counterinsurgency operations as directed by MACV J3."

Air Commando Association -
The Air Commando Association(ACA) is an organization formed during the Vietnam war by Air Force personnel who served in Jungle Jim, 4400 CCTS, Air Commando Units from all wars, Special Operations units, Special Air Warfare Center, Combat Application Groups, Project 404, Raven FACS, Combat Control Team, and all members who served with units equipped with the following aircraft performing special operations missions: A-1, A-26, A-37, U-10, T-28, C-47, C-7, C-130, C-123, C-119, O-1, O-2, OV-10, L-1, U-10, UC-64, L-5, B-25, P-51, C-46, Helicopters: YR-4, CH-53, H-34, MH-53, MH-60, UH-1(), Waco Gliders, all gunships etc. The purpose of the ACA was to keep alive the Air Commando spirit, to rekindle comradeship of wartime relationship, to honor the dead and the living who participated in our wartime effort and to promote the utilization oflowkey peacekeeping activities of special operations.

The Viet Nam War Museum is a registered, not-for-profit Organization with the goal of preserving an accurate history of the conflict through memorabilia, artifacts, photographs, written documents, etc.

Secondly, the purpose of the Museum is to provide a vicarious experience for those who visit the exhibits and displays within.

Thirdly, the purpose of the Museum is to honor and remember all who served in the Viet Nam War and the sacrifices they made, so that future generations may remember and learn from this turbulent time in history. We must never forget the Viet Nam Experience!
